It was a nice but small exhibition. Sadly, it wasn´t allowed to take pictures. Google picture search helped to find at least a few pictures and sculptures shown on the exhibition.
The most interesting work was a blue colored, real human skull, on which Giger painted his typical rip-like patterns.
There was also a 6 feet tall version of the "Passage" and a lifesize Alien Xenomorph head as well as a complete lifesized Xenomorph.
There were also a few of his most famous paintings like "New York City", "Birth Machine", "Necronom" or different print versions of the "Passage", a lot of Alien concept stuff, early work, all in all an impressive little collection of strangeness.
The exhibition will stay open for a few weeks, so if you´re a Giger fan and have the chance to go there, don´t miss it. 5 bugs only.

Been a while
Whoa. Haven´t been active for a long time now. Turned out Facebook is a much easier way to promote and show my art.
Check out my page there going by the name "Sicklizard VFX". There´s a lot of new stuff from me. Still thinking about upping some of my new works here on good old DA, but I am rarely active, so I really don´t want to make any promises.
Sorry about that

Free Render Network??
What about shared performance. A platform on the internet, where I can offer my performance, when I don´t use it and use the unused performance of other logged in members. A bittle bit like they do at SETI. I don´t know much about programming, but Maxwell Render offers functions like rendering with different seed values, so render sessions can be merged together after rendering. Anybody inspired by this?
C4D R14 first look
I immediately got me the 40 day full trial demo, available on Maxon´s homepage.
The first thing I check out is the wood shader. Something simple. But befor I can give it a try, I must build a little scene. The first thing, I notice is the whole look and feel was taken to a tatally new level.
Hovering over objects highlights them with a nice outline. Selecting multiple elements now works without shift key, you just hover over the objects, one by one while holding the RMB.
The wood shader looks very realistic and seems to be quite useful, too.
But I am more interested in the new camera functions.
And I realize something ultra cool: Wh
C4D R 14 out now - Revolution
Everytime, Maxon releases a new Version of Cinema 4D, I am excited like a child and can´t wait to see, what new features it has. And every major update contains many cool and useful new features.
But this time, they did more, than I´ve expected.
The new version introduces a complete sculpting system, including various sculpting tools, low poly retopography and normal map generator.
New dynamic functions for MUCH better control over connections and breaking behaviour. Softbody dynamics can now simulate metal deformation, so objects can be bent dynamicly. And there´s aerodynamics now! Finally.
A completely new procedural wood
